Starting therapy is a big step, and you deserve to know what to expect along the way.

Here’s an overview of how we’ll begin, what sessions look like, and how we’ll make sure everything — from scheduling to payment — feels clear and manageable.

What to expect when working together

Therapy is a step-by-step process, and I’ll be with you at each stage — moving at a pace that feels safe, supportive, and right for you.

Consultation

Call or email to book a 15-minute consultation where we can get to know each other and what’s bringing you in.

Forms & Insurance

If we both feel like it’s a right fit, I’ll send intake forms. Once returned along with a copy of your insurance card, we move to step three.

Sessions

The first couple of meetings are a free-flowing intake to collaboratively build a treatment plan. Sessions after that are client-led; I’ll hold space for your story, help you notice patterns, and guide you toward trusting your voice again.

Planning for your first therapy session

I want you to feel confident and supported as you plan your sessions. This section provides clear information about fees, insurance, and policies so you can know what to expect and focus on your healing with ease and peace of mind.

  • Individual sessions: $160 / 50 min | $180 / 90 min

  • Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Carelon / Gold Coast Medi-Cal, Cigna, Optum / United Health Care

  • I want therapy to be accessible. If needed, I offer a sliding scale based on your financial situation. Please reach out to discuss what works for you.

  • A Good Faith Estimate is a clear, upfront breakdown of the expected cost of your therapy sessions. It’s designed to help you understand your financial responsibility, whether you’re paying out-of-pocket or using insurance.

    The estimate includes:

    • The cost of your session(s)

    • Any expected fees if additional services are needed

    • Guidance on how insurance may cover your sessions

You can request a Good Faith Estimate before booking so you feel confident and prepared. It’s not a bill. Final costs may vary depending on session length, insurance coverage, or changes in your treatment plan.

Providing this estimate helps you plan ahead, avoid surprises, and focus on your healing with clarity and peace of mind.

  • Your session time is specifically reserved for you and requires 24-hour cancellation notice if you are unable to attend. A late cancellation or failure to show, unless it is an emergency, will result in being charged for the session.

Evening appointments between 4–7 pm are considered prime spots. If there are 2 late cancellations or no-shows, your spot cannot be held. After 3 late cancellations or failures to show, sessions may be terminated with notice. You will be reminded of our office policy prior to any termination.

If you are 15 minutes late or more and have not reached out or contacted the office, we will need to reschedule your session.

Having this policy in place respects our time together and allows us to build a healthy therapeutic relationship.

The shifts you’ll witness as you attend more sessions

As you show up for yourself in therapy, small but meaningful changes begin to take root. You may notice more calm, clarity, and self-trust, and start moving through life with greater confidence and presence.

My goal is to help you not only understand your patterns, but also feel the freedom that comes from healing them.

Showing up is the first step.

Therapy is a journey, and everyone moves at their own pace. We don’t need all the answers; we simply need to show up for us. Taking this first step allows you to prioritize you.
